This application completely locked up and cannot use. It is very frustrating and I would not recommend it to anyone.

I have used this app for years. It is now staple in my photo backup routine. However, in the last few months the OSX app consitently crashes and will not sync more than a few photos.
I agree with other recent reviewers. This app used to be great, now it is not. It crashes frequently, and worse, sometimes SAYS it has synced photos and videos but the files are in fact corrupted! I tried emailing support, but after one unhelpful reply, they went silent.
even after typing in the IP and Port. Use to work fine until they screwed with this app. Frustrating part is it cost money, now it is useless.
This app would of been useful when the iPHone first came out before camera roll or before dropbox and box.net and all kinds of other ways to synch your device. Why pay 2 dollars when you can install dropbox or google+ and just back up everything automatically. I think now its time to pull apps like this. Unless you have a very very old iPod or something.
My app synced fine from computer to iPhone, and vice-versa over wi-fi until I updated to the current version. This is not very useful if it doesnt work.
It’s true that Dropbox, Google and other cloud storage services offer photo syncing to online storage. From reading other reviews there is a perception that these services make PhotoSync redundant or unnecessary. For people just wanting to back their photos up to one service this might be true. But none of these services offer the flexibility of PhotoSync. With Dropbox for example once the photo is uploaded its very difficult to upload the photo again. This is because Dropbox keeps a database of the metadata to prevent redundant uploads. PhotoSync on the otherhand not only keeps a database of past uploads but allows you to override if necessary. You can also sync to a huge list of cloud services including your own private storage on FTP or WEBDAV. I have a Synology Raid connected to my home internet and can upload my photos remotely without loosing a beat. This is a great app with many different uses and is adaptable to a variety of work flows.
I’ve been using PhotoSync for about a year now and it’s gotten better and better. The recent update which improved the interface and icon (which looks much better now!) are really appreciated. Previously I used to have some instances of the iPhone app not being able to see the Mac app or vice versa, but that problem has disappeared with this update. Now it works perfectly, which is why I took the time to write this review (which I almost never bother to do, to be honest). I highly recommend PhotoSync. I saw another commentor mention Dropbox and the Camera Roll as a better option, but PhotoSync is just far, far faster. It’s instant. I work in mobile app development and frequently have to move screenshots from iPhone and iPad to my Mac.
I’ve been using this app for over a year - near flawless. Updates have improved performance. Highly recommended.
More features than Ill probably ever learn to use, but nice knowing they are there if I need them.
I finally was able to replace the unwieldy, buggy beast on my HTC One! Every time I used HTC Sync to import to iPhoto I ended up with a hopeless, endless loop where iPhoto would try to import pictures again, again, and again. Now, it’s as easy as hitting the red sync icon in the app on my phone and VOILA. Done.
I have used PhotoSync with joy and gratitude for years, but the cuyrrent versions will not wotk between my phone and tablet, not between my phone and iMac, nor between any devices. It says it is “Pre[paring Sync” and “Transferring to[device]” but nothing happens and the sync eventually times out.
I love the app and will give it 5 stars after it is updated to support Apple’s new Photo desktop app.
Loved the app before it was changed today. Now it does not work.
I used to love this app to transfer pictures back & forth between computer & iPad. Then version 3.04 came along & it just doesn’t work at all For some reason “photoSync” does not show up in my list of Apps on either my computer or my iPad. When might a fix be expected
I had my workflow setup around this once great app because it was as fast as a wired connection AND kept track of previously transfered photos and videos. Now it refuses to connect at all between my phone and iMac. Nothing has changed from when it was working. iPhone6 to iMac used to work like a charm, now it sees my iMac, but refuses to connect and gives me an error message. This app used to be The Best Photo Transfer Solution because of its speed and simplicity and that it kept track of previously transfered files. Now it won’t transfer anything. If an update breaks functionality between to items that used to work, both of which are recent Apple products, then I don’t think the fault is on my end.
I too have the latest version 3.0.4 and I am using it on an iPhone, iPad and iMac. It continues to work flawlessly and is used daily. My favorite, of all, apps!!
I used to rely on this app, it was fantastic. Now none of my devices see each other, completely non-functional. What happened?
Works well, some setting could be better explained in English (they are a German company) but its a great app for ios and mac and windows. Have used for 3+ years. Really wish it would support AFP, as the Airport Extreme and Time Capsule support attaching hard drives to use as NAS (network attached storage) >> 5th star if it had this option (paid add-on or otherwise).
The app doesn’t work anymore. When I open it all the options are grayed out and my phone cant find it to send photos to.
